One day, a feline with eyes that looked like they belonged in a cartoon, made the decision to fully embrace the indoors and ended up becoming quite a unique character.

A black and white feline was discovered living in a colony of untamed cats near a factory in Norfolk, England. Feline Care Cat, a group of animal rescuers, stumbled upon the unique kitty and observed a few peculiarities about her. She had lost most of her teeth and her tongue hung out. She couldn’t close her eyes and blinked using her third eyelid, among other things. The rescue decided to take her in since she would fare better indoors. During the next year, the cat, dubbed Mau Mau, relished the comfortable home life with her human companions. As she became more confident, her personality expanded. “Every time I catch a glimpse of Mau Mau’s photo, it makes me wonder whether she’s part cat and part cartoon,” Feline Care Cat posted on Facebook.

During the adoption process, the rescue aimed to find the ideal household for Mau Mau and her distinctive characteristics. Amelia, a lifelong cat owner and vet office employee, was captivated by the cartoonish appearance of the feline and requested to meet her in person.
After meeting Mau Mau, Amelia fell head over heels in love with her. The tiny cat sat in her room, meowing at Amelia before she entered, making her appear even smaller. According to Love Meow, Amelia said that she was completely smitten by the adorable cat.

After a long period of socializing, the once-feral cat was finally prepared to have a place to call her own. She took it upon herself to win over her new mom with just one meow after being introduced. Following some time to adjust to her new surroundings, she emerged from hiding under Amelia’s bed, thoroughly exploring every inch of the house and claiming all available chairs and beds.

Mau Mau, the feline with limited set of teeth, is frequently seen sticking out her tongue as if she’s constantly blowing raspberries. She has a curious nature and endeavors to capture anything that moves, even her own fluffy tail. An everyday mission for her is to seize her bothersome bushy brush (or any similar object) and conquer it with all her strength.

Although Mau Mau may not be the most graceful feline around, she more than makes up for it with her feisty attitude and carefree demeanor. Amelia, Mau Mau’s owner, affectionately describes her as a small cat with a big personality who can be quite stubborn and unresponsive at times.

Mau Mau’s inquisitive nature makes her eager to explore and examine anything novel. She has a fierce spirit and used to engage in battles with fellow felines at the shelter, relishing in roughhousing with her toys and even playfully attacking human hands. While she may not be the type to curl up in your lap for prolonged periods, Mau Mau is known to enjoy affectionate chest scratches when she is in the mood.

As soon as Amelia rises from her bed, her adorable cat eagerly darts over and leaping onto the sofa next to her loving owner. The furry companion never fails to boost Amelia’s mood and kickstart her day on a positive note.

Amelia mentioned that Mau Mau’s top pastime is indulging in delicious food, although she also enjoys toting her fluffy pom-poms around and lounging in sunny spots. Ever since leaving behind the wild life, Mau Mau has transformed into a cheerful and lively kitty, brimming with mischief and playful antics.

Her mother is overjoyed by her boundless enthusiasm, lively nature and charming idiosyncrasies.
