The updated CUPRA Born is photographed for the first time: the electric hatchback will get a new look.
The electric CUPRA Born will be updated. The company’s first electric car will get a lot of changes to stay on the market.
We are presented with the first «spy» photos with the test prototype of the CUPRA Born 2025.
Thanks to them, we can already see some updates that promise to be monumental.
The tests are now underway in the Alps. In the photo you can see that the prototype has camouflage only on the front.
This is quite typical for a restyling. The first generation of Born began selling about a year and a half ago, and recently the model has received new versions.
However, the Spanish company has already decided to update its first-ever electric car so that it can continue to compete in its class.
It is noticeable that the development has just begun, so there is still quite a lot of time until the full debut.
Most likely, the updated model will not appear on sale before 2025. The front part of the prototype is almost completely hidden.
This means that the main changes are concentrated here. The lighting units and bumper design as well as the radiator grille are likely to be updated.
At the back, only the brand logo is hidden, but we expect the headlights to get a new light signature.
Of course, the restyling will also affect the mechanical part of the car. In particular, its electric transmission.
However, not much is known about that right now. Considering that the Volkswagen ID.3 will get an increased range and more power, we can expect that the CUPRA model will get the same.
We’ll have to wait until at least the end of next year to find out. It’s likely that the electric car won’t debut until 2024 at the earliest.
Initially, this electric car was planned under the Seat brand, and two years ago there was even a show car under the Seat el-Born, named after an expensive neighborhood in the center of Barcelona.
But Volkswagen subsequently revised its strategy and opted for the young Cupra brand, which was created under Seat’s wing for the most striking and driving models.
Last summer that plan was confirmed with the debut of the new Cupra el-Born show car. Well, now the production version is ready, which will be released on the European market under the truncated name Cupra Born.
