A record-breaking goldfish has been caught in Champagne, France, where a fisherman dragged a 50-kilogram specimen to shore.
This puny specimen weighed half the weight of the record holder just caught in France.

The BlueWater Lakes carp fishery released the giant, known as The Carrot, 20 years ago and it has since grown to become one of the largest in the world. It’s twice the size of the fish you see above. Watch this.
The different breeds of goldfish are all types of hardy, golden domesticated carp, which come in all sorts of curious color arrangements. Sometimes they hybridize with other fish such as koi, as was the case with The Carrot.
Due to its status as a carp-koi hybrid, and therefore 20 years to roam, The Carrot has grown to over 50 kilograms in weight. Andy Hackett from Worcestershire, UK, took 25 minutes to catch it before taking a few selfies and then letting the animal go.
